Special Lecture: The Role of Atrial Natriuretic Peptide in Cardiovascular and Renal Regulation in Maptides with 21 to 28 amino-aeid residues (Fig. 1), which have vasorelaxant and steroidogenesis-inhibiting properties in addition to their natriuretic effects. A propeptide with 126, and a pre-propeptide, which in humans has 151 amino acid residues, were also identified.
