Vibrational and Electronic Raman Effectof the main features is that the scattering tensor governing these types of processes is antisymmetrical. This is also the case for electronic Raman transitions of rare-earth ions, while it can also be shown that the intensities of electronic Raman transitions and those of overtones (vibrational Raman effect) are approximately equal in value.

A Comparative NMR Studytives were measured and found to be in excellent agreement with the values calculated using Zurcher’s tables. In the . -ring hydroxylated derivatives the magnitude of the coupling between the proton on the carbon bearing the hydroxyl group and the protons on the adjacent carbon atoms was also found to be consistent with the proposed structures.
