Products, Contexts and Capacities and experiment with new ways. If this experimentation falls short, if no experience will ever accumulate, if nothing is learned from the process, then will the true conservation continue? What will sustain the current, catastrophic ways of living, producing and consuming?

A Social Learning Processarises effectively all that has been said in the previous chapters. In particular, this sentence claims that in order to avoid a social catastrophe, this transition has to be effectuated by positive choices, and the results of the transition have to be perceived as improvements in living conditions.

Minimising Resource Consumptionability terms has two implications. First, with regard to the input flow, it helps to save natural resources for future generations. On the other hand, with regard to the output into nature, the reduction of resource consumption, which is trivial really, overrides the environmental impact of what is not consumed.
