Udo Renner,Nikolaos Balteas,Joachim Nauckntify changes in functional cortical connectivity. Most recently, positron emission tomography (PET) MRI has given clues to pathologic protein alterations in delirium. Given the constraints of neuroimaging, research must proceed in a focused, hypothesis-driven manner.

The ‘Pseudologia’ and Scientific Learning in all patient populations. The current state of literature is highlighted by many gaps in the knowledge of delirium prevention and treatment strategies. Future research will clarify whether pharmacologic interventions can be added to non-pharmacologic interventions and whether these interventions impact short-term and/or long-term outcomes.
