Using a query language to state consistency constraints for repositories, items in the repository. The queries are handled by a generic analyzer, which checks the defined constraints whenever appropriate. Furthermore, we present a general classification schema for consistency constraints and describe how different classes of constraints are handled by our approach.

View maintenance in object-oriented databases,e., views derived from base classes. To achieve incremental view update, we introduce a modification list into each base class. A series of algorithms are developed to serve the purpose. Finally it happened that, view maintenance within object-oriented databases subsumes that within the nested and hence conventional relational models.
