Lucio Tommaso De Paolis,Antonio Mongelli and was formed as a scientist during his ocean voyage. Like Darwin he visited Brazil, Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia. After Banks the voyages of Robert Brown (1801–1803), Charles Darwin (1831–1836), Joseph Hooker (1839–1843), Tomas Huxley (1846–1850) and Henry Moseley (1872–1876) followed.
