Pedestrian Detection from a Moving Vehiclendidate solutions (i.e. using Radial Basis Functions). We present experimental results on pedestrian detection off-line and on-board our Urban Traffic Assistant vehicle and discuss the challenges that lie ahead.

Bootstrap Initialization of Nonparametric Texture Models for Trackingion is feasible in both domains. We find that (1) independence assumptions in the learning process can be violated to a significant degree, if enough data is taken; (2) there are both domain-independent and domain-specific means to mitigate learning bias; and (3) repeated bootstrapping does not necessarily result in increasingly better models.

Toward Sensor to Reproduce Human Sense,ze cases in which wrong responses are preferred to correct ones, and we design a stochastic gradient algorithm which converges to parameters which minimize this measure of frustration. We also present a first set of experiments in this context, and introduce extensions to deal with data-dependent energies.
