Giant Planet Formation,anets are formed through quasi-static contraction of massive envelopes. On the other hand, Wuchterl (1991) obtained the results that giant planets should undergo a dynamical phase and cannot have massive envelopes like the present Jupiter and Saturn because dynamical oscillation would eject envelope mass.
