Whyareosteoporosistrialsaspecialcasethatdeserveabookoftheir own? There are three main reasons. First, most diseases have a well-understood definitionandaetiology. Osteoporosisisadiseasethatisunderstoodbythosewo- ing within the subspecialty, but currently there is no definition that is agreeable to both medical and scientific communities and its aetiology is poorly understood.
