Randall Neal Gatz,Johannes PiiperThis paper proposes and evaluates a new adaptation rule retention approach and presents a case study assessing the relative benefits of learning cases versus learning adaptation rules derived from the cases, at different points in the growth of the case base.

On the Role of Analogy in Resolving Cognitive Dissonance in Collaborative Interdisciplinary Designectives of teammates, align their mental models, and thereby resolve the cognitive dissonance in interdisciplinary design teams. We discuss some implications of our observations for developing case-based systems for collaborative interdisciplinary design.

Sentiment and Preference Guided Social Recommendationive analysis on data extracted from Amazon.com. In particular we show that the performance of the proposed aspect based sentiment analysis algorithm is superior to existing aspect extraction algorithms and that combining this with preference knowledge leads to better recommendations.

Tuuurbine: A Generic CBR Engine over RDFSore solutions for a given query. The search for similar cases is based on a generalization/specialization method performed by means of generalization costs and adaptation rules. The whole knowledge (cases, domain knowledge, costs, adaptation rules) is stored in an RDF store.

A Proposal of Temporal Case-Base Maintenance Algorithmse propose the extension of different CBM approaches to deal with this problem. Five temporal CBM algorithms are proposed (t-CNN, t-RENN, t-DROP1, t-ICF and t-RC-FP). These algorithms make the maintenance of case-bases possible when cases are temporal event sequences.
