https://doi.org/10.1007/0-387-29159-8enoids. The field has been reviewed by Mayer. and further progress was reported in other International Symposia on carotenoids.. In the following review some recent advances in the synthesis of optically active carotenoids originating from our laboratories are presented.

Recent Advances in the Synthesis of Retinoids and Visual Pigment Analogs Studies,ompounds available in the literature. Nor, will it be wise to repeat the effort of others who have already produced several extensive review articles.. Instead, in this paper only efforts directed toward preparation of stereoisomers of vitamin A, a topic of interest here will be summarized.

The donor is the excited triplet chlorophyll molecule, the process is known as triplet-triplet energy transfer, and it results in the production of an excited triplet carotene molecule.

Recent Progress in Carotenoid Structures,those at the laboratory bench. Moreover I can only hope that this tribute to a colleague, which has just been introduced by Norman for the first time, will be continued at a future carotenoid symposium.
