Preface,Professor Guo Jianbin asked me to write a preface to his new book. After reading his manuscript, the word ‘Watch’ jumped out, connecting fragments of feelings and thoughts, which could be served as the title of this brief preface.

Fieldwork Area and Research Methodology,The fieldwork area of this book is located at the junction of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet, specifically the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan, the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan and the Qamdo region in Tibet, covering most of the ‘Kham’ Tibetan areas in the traditional sense.
