Biomedical Applications of Borane Cluster Chemistryarthritis and drug discovery and drug delivery. Carboranes, polyhedral borane ions and their derivatives do not appear to be highly toxic in mammals and these borane derivatives appear to be resistant to enzymatic degradation, as well.

Book 2023laurels, after retiring from UCLA Prof. Hawthorne explored the use of boron in biomedicine and directed the International Institute of Nano & Molecular Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
