影响因子Biological homogenization is the dominant process shaping thefuture global biosphere. As global transportation becomes faster andmore frequent, it is inevitable that biotic intermixing will increase.Unique local biotas will become extinct only to be replaced by alreadywidespread biotas that can tolerate human activities. This process isaffecting all aspects of our world: language, economies, andecosystems alike. The ultimate outcome is the loss of uniqueness andthe growth of uniformity. In this way, fast food restaurants exist inMoscow and Java Sparrows breed on Hawaii. .Biological homogenization qualifies as a global environmentalcatastrophe. The Earth has never witnessed such a broad and completereorganization of species distributions.

Limitation on the Production of Opium chapter focuses on hybridization between native and alien plant species and its implications for plant conservation. We consider a species alien when it is known to have been introduced to a given region from a different region of the world.

Limitation on the Production of Opiumortionately high, especially if extinctions are more prevalent in monotypic genera (McKinney 1997b; Hughes 1999; Russell . 1998). Losing higher taxa means that any biological innovations unique to them will also be lost, leaving an impoverished, more homogeneous fauna (Myers 1997).

Sanda Ghimpu,Victor Dan Zlatescuabitat generalism (measured by the number of climate zones within a species‘ native range) of biome grasses and number of continents invaded. Most recently, Goodwin et. al. (1999) found number of native biogeographic regions to be the best predictor of successful plant invasion into New Brunswick, Canada.
