Spatio-Temporal Patterns of Activity in Neural Systems: Simulation and Analysisated in real nervous systems. A preparation that allows direct visualisation of space-time patterns generated by part of an invertebrate nervous system is described. An open question is how to classify and quantify these space-time patterns, to compare the behaviour of different models, and ultimately to compare modelled and real behaviour.

Statistical Inference for Stochastic Neuronal Modelshe problem the neuron spike train is modelled by doubly stochastic Poisson process and filtering theory is applied to estimate the random intensity functions of the process. Two different models are proposed and the methods of statistical inference for evoked neuronal activity are derived on their basis.
