https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-658-35772-6 polyethylene, which is made from ethylene (CH.=CH.) where the carbon atoms share electrons with two other hydrogen and carbon atoms: -CH.-(CH.-CH.).-CH.-, in which . indicates the number of repeating units. Also note the repeating unit is -CH.CH.-, not -CH.-.
