影响因子Many areas of Eastern Europe have been polluted to an extentunknown in the West. Four such sites - Kola Peninsula, northernBohemia, upper Vistula Basin, and Katowice - have beenidentified and detailed accounts of the pollution at these sites aregiven. The current status of the use of biomarkers in hazardassessment is given by several scientists from NATO countries. Fourworking groups, comprising scientists working on the polluted sitesand western scientists with expertise in biomarkers, examine the useof biomarkers to assess the environmental health of each of theseareas and make recommendations on the future direction of remedialaction in these areas.
