The Behavior of Proteins Under Extreme Conditions: Physical Concepts and Experimental Approaches,tability phase diagram, which has an elliptical shape. This shape results from the temperature and pressure dependence of the partial molar volume changes of the unfolding. At the molecular level this can be interpreted by assuming effects of temperature and pressure on the hydration as well as on the intramolecular cavities.
