Klassische ganzheitliche Wachstumstheoriecies, and species penetrating into natural habitats. There is insufficient information about the remaining species. About 30 species are widespread noxious weeds which now have economic significance in Israel; 20 others are known to have similar ecological tendencies in other countries. These species soon may become aggressive weeds in Israel.

Consequently, most of the aliens occur only in man-made ruderal and/or segetal plant communities, and very few of them were able to penetrate into undisturbed natural vegetation.

Klassische Wachstumstheorie und Entwicklungrtance among all the present Mediterranean zones. Man’s influence on the vegetation became significant in the middle Neolithic (south of France) or earlier (south of Spain) and may be characterized by the presence of plants such as . and .. The Chalcolithic, the Roman period, and the Middle Ages are also important periods of man’s influence.

History of the impact of man on the distribution of plant speciesr are discussed in this paper. Exotic species especially appear to occur in plant communities strongly influenced by man. Although European plant communities generally appear to be resistant to an invasion of exotic species, the same is not true for other continents. Examples are given.
