Chrysobalanaceae,America, South Asia, Africa, Pacific Islands and Australia. These trees are deciduous to evergreen, fruits are drupes with one seed per fruit. One of the species oiticica (.) is a source for oil for making biodiesel.

Compositae,hem under Asteraceae since they are homologous families and their characteristics are synonymous. These plants are normally cultivated either as a horticultural crop or as an oil seed crop. Some are weeds and uninvited partners of garden.

Euphorbiaceae,d to be useful as resource in biodiesel production and hence dealt in this chapter. Out of the above, 5 (., ., ., . and .) belong to a single subfamily Crotonoideae. Other 3 species belong to Euphorbioideae (. and .) and Acalyphoideae (.).
