Application of Biopolymer Blends as Edible Films and Coatings in Food Packaging, different types of materials used for food packaging, and their properties are discussed. In the following, different kinds of biopolymers and their preparation techniques are summarized. The properties of each biopolymer blend are also emphasized. Finally, applications of biopolymer blends in food packaging are highlighted.

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) in Food Packaging,ommercialize PHA for its benefits of biocompatible as well as biodegradability. Expensive carbon source is one of the major sustainable PHA production limitations. Two ways to overcome high total price of PHA is using agro-industrial chip wastes and metabolic strains.
