,Elder’s Engagement with State Support Services,th harmony and discord, in direct and subtle ways, assisting to mitigate perceived discrimination and exclusion, and ensure the elders are respected, and their identity and cultural needs appropriately met. The elders are certainly liminal in mainstream British society, and navigate to carve out their particular subaltern position in it.

Elderhood and Black Sheltered Housing,s that arise between the state definition of the elderly status, and their imaged, and real experiences regarding this stage in the life cycle. In addition, highlighting the fears and courage the elders hold regarding their experiences amongst young people in the Brixton neighbourhood as they assert their power, rights, and elderly identity.
