All of this created a good base for the forthcoming Apollo programme. The Moon suddenly had a distinct stratigraphy, and most importantly, a chronology.

Atlas of the Moon,We show maps with the gravity aspects, topography from LOLA, and magnetic intensities. First, we present global views on the Moon (Sect. .), and then closer views by segments of the lunar surface with more details.
