The Major Meteor Showers: October to December, in a year, with meteors radiating from Orion. Unlike its sister stream, the η-Aquariids, the Orionids favour observers in the Northern Hemisphere, but there is still plenty for Southern observers to see.

Meteoroid Steams and Meteor Showers,ly by comets disintegrating as they approach the inner Solar System, and a few so-called active asteroids. But to leave it at that paints a simplistic picture that fails to place meteors in their true context.
