,The Problems of Evil—Logical, Evidential, and Moral,threatens the basic precepts of morality by making all suffering good. Lastly, Lorkowski briefly discusses some attempts to circumvent the Problem without actually solving it and points out difficulties that such positions entail.

Challenges to Sacred Texts,m such problems are first that the evidence provided by these texts is inadequate to change or impugn the position of nonbelievers and second, that the believer must jettison a literalist position and instead seek a holistic, reasoned interpretation of the text if they are to find value in it.

Moral Critiques to Religion,rrect religion or one correct path to the ultimate. After doing so, Lorkowski then briefly discusses the kinds of actual, historical harm that religious dogma has caused before isolating the major contributors that must be avoided—intolerance, fanaticism, textual fundamentalism, and a focus on principles other than morality.

Personal Survival and the Afterlife,fficient evidence for such a system, there are important moral objections regarding justice and fairness that threaten to undercut any notion of personal survival. Given this and other problems, the nonbeliever is perfectly rational in the rejection of such depictions.

Textbook 2021ar assumptions, sacrifices nothing in terms of ethics or meaning.  Instead, morality ultimately proves more important than religion and does not rely on it.
