Astrocytes in Bipolar DisorderVPA) and carbamazepine (CBZ), as well as antidepressants and antipsychotics that are used in the management of this disorder. Treatments for BD are ineffective in a large proportion of cases, and astrocytes represent new therapeutic targets that can also serve as biomarkers of illness progression and treatment responsiveness in BD.
