Rough Set Approach to Incomplete Datas, a basic idea of rough set theory. Incomplete data are characterized by characteristic relations. Using characteristic relations, lower and upper approximations are generalized for incomplete data. Finally, from three definitions of such approximations certain and possible rule sets may be induced.

Top-Down Selective Attention for Robust Perception of Noisy and Confusing Patterns Sequential recognition of superimposed patterns one by one is also possible. The developed TDSA model is applied to the recognition tasks of two-pattern images, superimposed handwritten characters, and noise-corrupted speeches.
