Suspensions over Symbolic DynamicsThe numerical analysis of a laminar flow over a step (Bièvres Workshop) with the JRC codes CONDIF /1/ and CONVEC /2/ is presented here. These finite element codes are designed for the transient analysis of incompressible flow problems based on the velocity-pressure formulation.

Hyperbolic Sets: Past and FutureThe variational form of Navier Stokes equation in a divergence free space suppresses the pressure term. So we construct a divergence free basis for one finite element. We solve the nonlinearity by two methods: least squares method, characteristics method, and we compare these two methods.

A Finite Element Method for Numerical Analysis of Laminar Flow over a Step,In this work a numerical method is proposed for the solution of non stationary Navier-Stokes equations. This code was developped for the simulation of flows around multi-component bodies of arbitrary shape. Thus our algorithms are general and do not make use of the particular geometry of the given problem, namely of the flow over a step.

Finite Element Simulations of Flow Past a Backward Facing Step,The simulations reported herein were performed for the GAMM workshop on the numerical analysis of flow past a backward facing step to be held at Nice, France in January 1983. As well as the presentation of the requested numerical simulations, this report contains a brief description of the numerical technique employed.
