影响因子Modern microelectronic design is characterized by theintegration of full systems on a single die. These systems ofteninclude large highperformance digital circuitry, high resolutionanalog parts, high driving I/O, and maybe RF sections. Designers ofsuch systems are constantly faced with the challenge to achievecompatibility in electrical characteristics of every section: somecircuitry presents fast transients and large consumption spikes,whereas others require quiet environments to achieve resolutions wellbeyond millivolts. Coupling between those sections is usuallyunavoidable, since the entire system shares the same silicon substratebulk and the same package. Alternative proposals for reducing substrate noise, few localized elements. Lastly, we study the viability of using active guards. The technique is similar to the canceling method, but in this case noisy elements are not duplicated, adding instead a circuit which senses noise and creates compensating noise, thus annulling the first one, for instance through negative feedback.
