影响因子.This open access book presents the findings from on-site research into radioactive cesium contamination in various agricultural systems affected by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident in March 2011. This fourth volume in the series reports on studies undertaken at contaminated sites such as farmland and forests, focusing on soil, water, mountain, agricultural products, and animals. It also provides additional data collected in the subsequent years to show how the radioactivity levels in agricultural products and their growing environments have changed with time and the route by which radioactive materials entered agricultural products as well as their movement between different components (e.g., soil, water, and trees) within an environmental system (e.g., forests). The book covers various topics, including radioactivity testing of food products; decontamination trials for rice and livestock production; the state of contamination in, trees, mushrooms, and timber; thedynamics of radioactivity distribution in paddy fields and upland forests; damage incurred by the forestry and fishery industries; and the change in consumers’ attitudes. In the series of this book, a re

Recovery of Food Production from Radioactive Contamination Caused by the Fukushima Nuclear Accidentamounts of radioactive waste, resulting in radiological (mainly radioactive cesium) contamination in the surrounding forests, agricultural fields, and residential areas..To ensure the safety of agricultural products grown on farmland after decontamination, Fukushima Prefecture conducted monitoring i

Effects of Radioactive Cesium from Suspended Matter and Fallout on Agricultural Products,d to produce safe agricultural products. However, secondary contamination of agricultural products via fallout and suspended matter has not been contemplated in these counter measures. Therefore, we examined secondary contamination of crops in the area affected by the FDNPP accident. Radioactive ces

Verification of Uptake and Transport Properties of Cesium in Hydroponically Cultivated , This is comparable to what has been observed in many crops, including rice. Then, is the cesium uptake mechanism of trees the same as that of rice and other herbaceous plants? To investigate the basic properties of potassium (K.) and cesium (Cs.) uptake and transport in Konara oak (. Thumb.), which

Candidates for Breeding Target Genes Related to Cesium Transport in Plants After the Fukushima Daiips. After the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, vigorous studies about Cs transport in crops have revealed various Cs. transport systems. Most reported Cs. transport systems were potassium ion transporters (KUP/HAK/KT family), but some were free from potassium ion transport systems suc

Structure, Composition, and Physicochemical Properties of Radiocesium-Bearing Microparticles Emittento the environment. These micron-sized spherical particles with high specific radioactivity have not been reported in previous nuclear accidents. Herein, the current understanding of the structure, composition, and physicochemical properties of CsMPs is summarized. Electron microscopy revealed that

Transport of 137Cs into Fruits After External Deposition onto Japanese Persimmon Trees,it trees and radiocaesium deposited onto surface of soil and leaf was assumed to be the main route of transfer into fruit trees. In contrast, fruit trees in Japan were in their dormancy phase, so radiocesium was deposited onto external branches of the trees and onto orchard soils after the Fukushima
