影响因子Recent advances in radiation oncology have depended upon andare intertwined with subsequent scientific discoveries and thedevelopment of new techniques in the fields of radiation and molecularbiology, physics, electrical engineering, surgery, and medicaloncology. .This volume describes how some of the recent discoveries in theradiological sciences have influenced the way radiation oncology ispractised. As there are many advances in this field, the Editors havechosen to concentrate on selected topics in clinical radiotherapy,radiation physics and biology, and technical innovations that have hada major impact on radiation oncology in the past twenty years. It ishoped that the techniques described in this volume will increase tumorcontrol and prolong patient survival and at the same time decreaseradiation-induced side effects and complications.

Implementation and Clinical Use of Portal Imaging,wer cost than could be achieved with film. While it may not be possible to totally eliminate setup errors, effective use of an EPID will minimize both random and systematic errors, which may result in the reduction of the dose to the target volume and/or an overdose to normal critical structures.
