Springer Series in Chemical Physicsrom the free troposphere may reduce the lifetime of individual droplets to values considerably below that of the cloud and may introduce extra oxidant which may substantially increase the sulphate production. A new model of cloud microphysics and chemistry in a growing cumulus cloud is presented to quantify the magnitude of this effect.
