The Simulation of a Water Supply Control System to Solve a Multi-Objective Problem nonlinear character of the mathematical program calls for the use of the simulation technique. Failures are simulated, and objectives are evaluated for several control schemes. The preferred central control system shall include instruments as required by the results of the analysis.

IntroductionIn his paper, DE DONNEA presents an analysis of the main obstacles to a broad use of normative models in water resources policy formulation and management. He identifies three major reasons for these problems : (a) inadequate optimization criteria, (b) mediocre or incomplete data, and (c) an unfavourable institutional framework.
