Springer Topics in Signal Processing use the extensions of fuzzy sets. In section 3 we review some methods recently published that use extensions of fuzzy sets in image thresholding. Finally we show some experimental results comparing the classical fuzzy thresholding algorithm against the algorithms based on extensions of fuzzy sets.
