Long-Term Potentiation of Feed-Forward Inhibition in Hippocampus: Extracellular Evidenced a shift to the right of the E-S curve is observed. Finally, short latency, low threshold units show a reduced firing threshold following perforant path tetanisation. These data are consistent with the hypothesis that LTP occurs at perforant path synapses onto feed-forward inhibitory interneurones.

Long-Term Potentiation of Inhibitory Responses in the Dentate Gyruse excitatory input, but preliminary experiments indicate that it may be induced by non-epileptogenic stimulation applied directly to the hilar region. The mechanism underlying this effect appears to be an increase in the number of GABA and benzodiazepine receptors.

Quantal Analysis of Long-Term Potentiationto 60 min after short tetanic trains which induced LTP. Two basic methods were used to calculate quantal parameters. The results of both methods point to a mainly presynaptic location of mechanisms which underly LTP and double pulse facilitation and a small (if any) participation of postsynaptic mechanisms.

Results of experiments in which we injected cAMP analogs into the postsynaptic neuron and others in which we recorded the activity of single calcium channels suggest that the NE enhancement of LTP takes place postsynaptically through increased calcium influx.
