Modal Interaction in Dynamical Systems with Closely-Spaced Natural Frequencies under Self-Excited ane natural frequencies is used as an example structure. Wind tunnel experiments are conducted using three dimensional models of the bridge tower, and it is found that the results by analysis, can well explain the experimental observations regarding modal selection under self-excited and modal interaction under random and self-excited forces.
