Starch Nanomaterials as Functional Packaging Ingredients,e been the main SNMts used in packaging applications. SNMts have been used to improve packaging properties, such as barrier properties (water vapor and gases), mechanical strength, and moisture resistance. Furthermore, these materials can be used to control the release of active compounds for food preservation.
