Detection and Recognition of Human Faces and Facial Features, that use neural networks are proposed. First, skin color (SOM, MLP) and face detection (MLP) systems descriptions are given. Then, comparison with other detection systems is given as well. The last part is devoted to several methods for facial feature detection.

SVM Based Adaptive Biometric Image Enhancement Using Quality Assessment,om the global enhanced image. These selected regions are used to generate single high quality image. The performance of the proposed algorithms is validated by considering face biometrics as the case study. Results show that the proposed algorithms improve the verification accuracy of face recognition by around 10–17%.

A Closed Loop Neural Scheme to Control Knee Flex-Extension Induced by Functional Electrical Stimulait estimates also the actual level of fatigue of the muscles. The controller was first developed and tested in simulation using a neuro—musculo—skeletal model and then in some experimental sessions on an untrained paraplegic patient.
