Aspects of Dynamo Theory,ic diffusivity is very small. The growth of the dipole moment of a localised current system is essentially diffusive in character; in the limit of vanishing diffusivity, the spatial structure of any dynamo must become increasingly complex; this is the ‘fast dynamo’ limit.
