The economics of running big ships,Since steamships were first used there has been, in most branches of shipping, a clear trend towards increase in the size of ships employed. Although marked, the trend towards increasing size in not a simple one, while the reasons for the trend and for the different way it has gone in different trades and ship types are even more complex.

Then for a stretch the peninsula from coast to coast is Thai territory, before it widens out to become Malaysia.
