It is based on recent experience attained during work on related national and European research grant projects. Some needs for further development and research in this field are summarized.

Investigation of the Dynamic Properties of the Brooklyn Bridgeian type excitations were studied by ambient vibration monitoring and forced vibration tests. Mode shapes and frequencies, extracted from the collected data, compared well with the results of finite element analysis. Modal damping ratios were also estimated.
