描述Black holes are one of the most fascinating predictions ofgeneral relativity. They are the natural product of thecomplete gravitational collapse of matter and today wehave a body of observational evidence supporting theexistence of black holes in the Universe. However, generalrelativity predicts that at the center of black holes there arespacetime singularities, where predictability is lost andstandard physics breaks down. It is widely believed thatspacetime singularities are a symptom of the limitations ofgeneral relativity and must be solved within a theory ofquantum gravity. Since we do not have yet any mature andreliable candidate for a quantum gravity theory, researchers have studied toy-models of singularity-freeblack holes and of singularity-free gravitational collapsesin order to explore possible implications of the yet unknown theory of quantum gravity. This book reviews allmain models of regular black holes and non-singulargravitational collapses proposed in the literature, anddiscuss the theoretical and observational implications ofthese scenarios.

,Regular Black Holes Sourced by Nonlinear Electrodynamics,., .) NED, possessing a correct (Maxwell) weak-field limit, are possible if the system contains only a magnetic charge .. It is shown, however, that in such solutions the causality and unitarity as well as dynamic stability conditions are inevitably violated in a neighborhood of the center. Some par

Regular Black Holes from Higher-Derivative Effective Delta Sources,ty properties of the effective sources depend on the behavior of the action’s form factor in the ultraviolet regime, which leads to results valid for large families of models (or for families of modified delta sources). Subsequently, we use the general results on the effective sources to construct r
