Subjectivation Theory,. In order to analyze how individuals re-positioned as plurilinguals look back at their experiences with language(s) in school, and which subject positionings are re-produced in this process, a subjectivation theory approach is used in this thesis.

Conclusion,w plurilingualism is experienced by speakers based on how they are discursively re-positioned as the norm or the Other. The engagement with the linguistic market in schools in Germany that followed provided insights into how languages are (not) part of official and hidden curricula.

Book 2023y found re-positionings are ‘raciolinguistic norm’ and  ‘raciolinguistic Other’. The results highlight the necessity of focusing in more detail on how listening positionalities shape language use in society and in schools specifically..
