描述Parallel and distributed computing are becoming increasinglyimportant as cost-effective ways to achieve highcomputational performance. Symbolic computations are notablefor their use of irregular data structures and henceparallel symbolic computing has its own distinctive set oftechnical challenges.The papers in this book are based on presentations made at aworkshop at MIT in October 1992. They present results in awide range of areas including: speculative computation,scheduling techniques, program development tools andenvironments, programming languages and systems, models ofconcurrency and distribution, parallel computerarchitecture, andsymbolic applications.
