The novel approach in understandingthe phenomena of climate variability is through a systematic analysiswithin a hierarchy of models using these techniques. In this way, anice overview is obtained of the relations between the results of thedifferent models within the hierarchy. Mechanistic description of thephysics of the results is provided and, where possible, links withresults of state-of-the-art models and observations are sought. Thereader is expected to have a background in basic incompressible fluiddynamics and applied mathematics, although the level of the text ismixed and sometimes quite introductory. Each chapter is ratherself-contained | 出版日期 | Book 2000 | 关键词 | Atlantic Ocean; Degrees of freedom; Meteorology; Ocean; Oceanography; Southern Oscillation; digital elevat | 版次 | 1 | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-015-9450-9 | isbn_softcover | 978-90-481-5541-5 | isbn_ebook | 978-94-015-9450-9Series ISSN 1383-8601 Series E-ISSN 2215-162X | issn_series | 1383-8601 | copyright | Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2000 |
