Numerical Round Robin for Prediction of Dissipation in Lap Joints,cy based sub-structuring methods, harmonic balance methods, discontinuous basis function methods, and high fidelity FEA approaches. The regimes in which each method is best suited are identified, and recommendations are made for how to select a modelling method and for advancing numerical modelling of discrete nonlinearities.

Wave Propagation in a Materially Nonlinear Rod: Numerical and Experimental Investigations, to investigate the influence of the nonlinear coefficient and other system parameters on the nonlinear behavior by using the modified AWT-FEM. An experimental investigation is performed by using a rod structure with a strong hardening-type material nonlinearity in order to verify the predicted phenomenon.

The Effect of Gravity on a Slender Loop Structure,ic vibrations are determined. Good agreement is attained between some theoretical results (based on an inextensible elastica model) and the experimental data. An interesting phenomenon of adjacent, co-existing solutions is also described.
