Prescribing, Recording and Reporting of BNCTh its unit gray (Gy). The complex dose distribution in tissue resulting from BNCT, which basically is due to 4 different dose components with different LET, different RBE and different spatial distribution, needs a sophisticated and detailed reporting system in order to avoid any risk of confusion.

The thermal neutron fluence from a Cf-252 source is often used as an external source for neutron induced brachytherapy.
