White Matter Anatomy acquisition is possible with shorter scan times. Selected axial, sagittal and coronal images obtained on a 3T MRI scanner have been labelled, and major, clinically-important fiber tracts are illustrated.

Functional Anatomy of the Major Tractsnces to relevant figures. We will then describe the major functions of each tracts and identify specific deficits that can localize the disease in a specific part of the brain region. Where possible, important syndromes have been outlined.

Cranial Nerve II: Opticon to the brain by maintaining a strict visuotopic represention at all intermediate relay stations. The entire visual pathway, function, pathology and major clinical syndromes are outlined. Some cases are also provided.

Structural AnatomyA selected set of high resolution T1-weighted images in the axial, coronal and sagittal planes we obtained from a 3T scanner. These are meticulously labelled to highlight sulci, gyri and nuclei of clinical interest. We chose to reconstruct the planes most commonly reviewed by radiologists.

Detailed Anatomy at 7TThis chapter illustrates high resolution images obtained from a 7T scanner. These images provide detailed visualization of deep gray nuclei, hippocampus and temporal lobe anatomy not normally seen on 1.5T or 3T scanner imaging. Axial and coronal planes have been used to provide detailed regional anatomy.

White Matter AnatomyDiffusion tensor imaging (DTI) allows for the visualization of major tracts in the cerebellum and the brain stem. We illustrate the main tracts of clinical interest on images in the axial, coronal and sagittal images acquired on a 3T MRI Scanner.
