描述.This edited collection explores how First Lady Michelle Obama gradually expanded and broadened her role by engaging in social, political and economic activities which directly and indirectly impacted the lives of the American people, especially young women and girls. The volume responds to the various representations of Michelle Obama and how the language and images used to depict her either affirmed, offended, represented or misrepresented her and its authors.  It is an interdisciplinary evaluation by African American women and girls of the First Lady’s overall impact through several media, including original artwork and poetry. It also examines her political activities during and post-election 2016..

Michelle Obama: Flight vs. Fightt enough since young Black girls have been abused in schools during her time in office. I present scenarios in which the former First Lady Michelle Obama has advocated for Latina and South East Asian girls in a way she has not advocated for Black girls, though the needs of Black girls are the most critical and relatable.

When and Where I Enter It deals with identity, and asks the question, as an African-American woman, can one truly be satisfied with having an African-American woman serving as First Lady? Wyatt expresses her thoughts that Michelle Obama brought the dreams, realities, and hopes of an entire generation with her when and where she entered.
