Preliminary observations on , (da Costa, 1778) on the Portuguese coast,productive cycle and the annual changes in the population size-structure, and makes comparisons with similar data from the species’ northern geographical limits. The major latitudinal changes are a longer spawning period extending later in the autumn, smaller maximum sizes and shorter life spans.
